Details:

For Printing on dark or black substrates.

Designed to maximise the quality of sublimation printed images on dark or black surfaces like slate that would normally not suitable for sublimation.

Digital decorators will be familiar with the fact that sublimation inks do not print white. In order for transferred images to appear vibrant, the substrate must be white or as close to white as possible. The whiter the substrate, the better the opacity to the transfer and the more the image stands out.

Many potential substrates that would make excellent decorated products are unfortunately black or gray. A piece of slate may make a superbly decorated award or photo gift, but without the proper coatings, the transferred image would be very poor and commercially unacceptable.

In order to prepare a dark surface for sublimation imprinting, the item must first receive a white base layer before application of Digi Coat Clear sublimation coating. The white layer will give opacity to the image. However, since heat is used in the transfer process, the white base coat needs to be able to withstand 200°C (392°F) heat without peeling or turning yellow.

Digi Coat White has been specially formulated to work with Digi Coat Clear. It is simple to apply, may be applied to thousands of substrate materials, and will not peel or discolour under heat.

It cures at 160 degrees for 15-20 minutes and is suitable for all substrates
